Aeromod Coquillaj lux review

Let’s start with the build
I have built a few Aeromod planes and was expecting a lot of head
scratching and maybe even some fowl language, I was pleasantly
surprised to find it really is nothing more than a fit out and very easy.
It took me 3 evenings of about an hour each to complete the glider.

First impressions
She is a very light and solid plane and seems to be exactly what I
wanted, a strong, tough, light glider for those light days at the slope,
no more scratching about trying not to make any sudden control
movements ending in a shameful land out, a good strong discus
launch giving you enough height to be as silly as you like and still able
to land back at your feet,

First Flight
Wind was 4mph and a little off slope.
She flew straight and true, no trim required, once some energy was
retained she was great I added a dual rate of 60% as 25mm up
aileron was a bit much in a 4mph wind, she was really responsive and
accurate, a real pleasure to fly.

Second flight
Wind was 8‐10mph and bang on the slope
She was so much fun I could not put it down, this was certainly her
wind speed limit and you would need to add a little weight if you
wanted to take her further.

Flat Field
This is not a flat field model, you would be hard pushed to get
enough height, to get enough energy to do any aerobatics, and if you
managed to get enough energy you would lose it after one
manoeuvre,

The only bad think I have to say about this model is about the fin,
The fin is attached to the fuselage using cyno and is very venerable I
have taken it off on every day I have used it, not every flight but
every day at the slope. A perfect landing or a catch will see you fine
but this is a very light plane and it only take a tiny bit of turbulence
to make the landing a tiny bit off perfect, I have been left with two
choices,

1) improve the fixing of the fin to the fuse, but in turn increase the
risk of damaging the fin.
2) Carry some Cyno in my flight bag and hope I have not damaged
the servo when losing the fin.
I have decided to stick with option 2 and carry cyno in the flight bag.

Conclusion
Great little plane for a light wind slope aerobatic model, really worth
the money and does its job very well
Tail could and probably will be modified in the near future.
